Do not postpone, get a gas heating system this wintertime
Central heating is the best way of getting ready for when wintertime approaches with its longer nights and freezing temperatures. Heating your house will make it a relaxing and cosy place to be, so therefore you need a reliable and economical gas central heating system.
Most heating systems compromise of a gas boiler; heating radiator and pipework, there are basically two different sorts of central heating systems, one being a pumped system and the other being a vented system.
Popularly used are pumped systems which comprise of a main feed and expansion water tank that heats up and transmits the heat through pipework to secondary heaters (radiators). The tank has enough storage space to allow for any water expansion that might result from the heating system.
The vented gas central heating system, on the other hand, is a sealed system, and it doesn’t have the centre section. It is basically a closed system, and for this reason, there is no need of water tanks. A sealed central heating system eliminates the risk of water leakage, airlock formation and pipe freeze (a common problem in the harsh winters of countries like Russia).
So the question now is, why do we need gas central heating? Is it really necessary?.
The primary benefit of central heating is that the entire home or office is warmed up rapidly, and that too, without adversely affecting the air around you. In earlier times, gas, electrical or storage heaters were utilised. These primitive heaters invariably resulted in a harsh, sticky and smelly atmosphere.
With central heating systems, these problems are not encountered, but your central heating system will require regular maintenance. Spring and summer often sees these systems shut down and completely ignored, only to be abruptly switched on when a chilly wind blows in. Try to switch on your heating system during autumn so that if there is any defect, it can be fixed well before winters approach and fixed at a time when the plumbers are less busy.
Periodic draining is very important for some types of gas central heating systems since they constantly suck dirt and air into them. The best way to do this is to place a bucket underneath the drain valve and slowly open it to release the water, but just make sure that no more air or dirt is making its way in.
